Brahmaloka:-
Brahmaloka, as seen on the head of Vishnu's Vishvarupa form as the Cosmic Man |
Brahmaloka (Sanskrit: ब्रह्मालोक, IAST:
Brahmāloka), is the abode of goddess Saraswati, goddess Gayatri and
Lord Brahma, the creator god and part of a Trimuti along
with Vishnu and Shiva in Hinduism. Located on Mount
Meru, it is also referred to as Brahmapura, Satyaloka or Satya
bagecha (bagecha means "garden") in the Puranas.
Brahmaloka is a garden filled with all kinds of flowers.
It
is stated that Brahmaloka is the highest of the joyful worlds a person might
attain. However, Buddha adds that the Brahmaloka is impermanent.
Brahmaloka is a big and beautiful garden made up of flowers.Vedanta considers
all spheres of existence, including the highest one namely Brahmaloka, to be
temporary and only the absolute reality of infinite Pure Consciousness-Bliss is
immortal and permanent.
Brahmapura
is the topmost loka within this material universe
Description:-
Brahmaloka
is a planet composed entirely of Bhraman, considered superior to svarga and
is full of eternity, knowledge and bliss, the planet of the Bhagavān.
The
Second Canto (Bhagavatam 2.5.39) also equates Brahmaloka with the spiritual
world,
mūrdhabhiḥ
satya-lokas tu brahma-lokaḥ sanātanaḥ
"Satyaloka,
the topmost planetary system, is situated on the head of the form. The
spiritual planet Brahmaloka, however, is eternal."
The
statement shows Brahmaloka is an eternal Vaikuntha that is neither
created nor within the material realm, and,
Brahman-lokah
esa atma-lokah
"Brahmaloka
is the planet of the Supreme Soul."
The Chandogya
Upanishad says in 8:1
within
the Brahmapura is an abode, a small lotus-flower within which is a small space
(antarakasa). What is within that, should be searched out. That, assuredly, is what
one should desire to understand.
Buddhism:-
Brahmaloka,
The highest of the celestial worlds, the abode of the Brahmas. It consists of
twenty heavens:
·
the nine ordinary Brahma-worlds,
·
the five Suddhavasa,
·
the four Arupa worlds,
·
the Asannasatta and
·
the Vehapphala.
All
except the four Arūpa worlds are classed among the Rupa worlds (the
inhabitants of which are corporeal). The inhabitants of the Brahma worlds are
free from sensual desires. The Brahma world is the only world devoid of women.
Rebirth in the Brahma world is the result of great virtue accompanied by
meditation. The Jataka tales contain numerous accounts of ascetics
who practised meditation, being born after death in the Brahma world. When the
rest of the world is destroyed at the end of a kappa, the Brahma world is saved
and the first beings to be born on earth come from the abhassara Brahma
world. The Brahmās are represented as visiting the earth and taking an interest
in the affairs of men. Thus, Narada descends from the Brahma-world to
dispel the heresies of King Angati in the Lord Brahma Nārada tale in the Mahanipata
Jataka.
Svarga:-
Arjuna travels to Swarga |
Svarga (sanskrit: स्वर्ग) also
known as Swarga or Svarga Loka, is one of the
seven higher lokas (esoteriscism plane) in Hindu Cosmology. The seven
lokas consist of Bhuloka, Bhuvar loka, Svarga loka (Indraloka), Maharloka,
Janaloka, Taparloka, Satyaloka. While these seven lokas and seven
patala lokas form 14 lokas of our Universe, beyond these 14 exist Goloka, Manidweppa and
such higher lokas of multiple Universes.
Svarga
Loka is a set of heavenly worlds located on and above Mt. Meru where
the righteous live in paradise before their next incarnation. During
each pralaya (the great dissolution), the first three realms, Bhu
loka (Earth), Bhuvar loka and Swarga loka are destroyed. Below the seven upper
realms lie seven lower realms, of Patala, the underworld and netherworld.
Overview:-
Svarga
is seen as a transitory place for righteous souls who have performed good deeds
in their lives but are not yet ready to attain moksha, or elevation to
Vaikunta, the abode of Lord Vishnu, considered to be the Supreme Abode (Rig
Veda (1.22.20) states,
"Oṃ tad viṣṇoḥ paramam padam sadā
paśyanti sūrayaḥ"
"All the suras (i.e., devas-
divinities) look toward the feet of Lord Vishnu as the Supreme Abode"
The capital of Svarga is Amaravati and its entrance is
guarded by Airavata. Svarga is presided over by Indra, the leader of
the devas.
